Your Browser Can Run AI Now

Super happy to be speaking again at STACK 2026, GovTech’s flagship event! This year is extra special as GovTech celebrates its 10th anniversary.

I will be giving a lightning talk on how to run AI directly in Chrome using built-in AI APIs. With just a few lines of JavaScript, you can build features like translation, summarisation, and comment moderation, all running directly in the browser. My session will be at 1:20pm on Wednesday, 4 November.

With how much AI has changed the software engineering landscape in just about a year, I am also curious to see how GovTech is adopting AI in its day-to-day work. I still remember attending the 2024 event and seeing how the building was monitored through a system, with robots waiting for lifts and all sorts of interesting things happening behind the scenes. I wonder what we will see in 2026!

The software industry has been moving faster than ever, and I think this is a great opportunity to catch up on the latest developments, get new insights, meet people, and hear what everyone else has been working on.
