Ship It Before I Finish Talking

AI has gotten incredibly good at building a whole app for you in minutes. That opens the door for anyone with an idea but little technical background. But a built app is only half the story. You still have to deploy it and make it live. And often you want the app to use AI itself, to summarize content, process data, whatever your idea needs. All of that pulls you back into the technical work: download the source, pick an AI service, run it, test it, wire it together.

Google AI Studio brings all of that into one place. You build on Google’s AI stack right inside the browser, connect to the Gemini API for reasoning and Firebase for the backend, and deploy to Google Cloud. Nothing to install. If you are a beginner, you need very little technical knowledge to follow along.

We will build something real together: plan the idea, optionally design the UI with AI, then build and deploy it, all inside AI Studio. The idea is personal. It is the first program I ever wrote, at 15, on a computer with 16 megabytes of RAM that cost my dad close to half a year of his salary. Back then it took me a full week to crack the logic. This time it is smarter, does far more, and goes live on the internet before I finish this talk, in under 30 minutes. And hopefully you will walk away with a few ideas for your own app, maybe even ship one before I/O Extended ends.

Then we turn to a second way to build with AI, one that runs entirely inside the browser. No server, no internet behind it. You run your prompt right there in Chrome. This is the part I am most excited about, because not many people know it is possible, and I finally have a use case that makes it click.

Everything is live, from a real project. You leave with two very different ways to build with Google AI, and a clear sense of which one to reach for and when.
